GIVING

The Jackson County Literacy, Inc.

Provides a free literacy program for adults, the only non-sectarian literacy program for low skilled adults in this area.  We also offer English as a Second Language classes.  We are nonprofit agency with a small operating budget supported by United Way allocations, private donations, and fund raisers.  Students pay a one time fee of $20 to help with the cost of supplies and to insure their investment into the program.

We help adults in their daily lives by improving their literacy skills in reading, writing and math.  Adults need basic literacy skills in today's work environment for both safety and productivity as well as for basic survival needs.  Our enrollment of 30-40 learners each month validates the need for our service.
